Customers appreciate the razor's weight, describing it as adding weight closer to a DE razor, and find it well-made with a fantastic handle that prevents slipping.

The handle has a good weight to it. Heavier than a stock Mach 3, but only slightly. The knurling is deep and consistent, with a good feel. The handle is painted and so far seems like it will last. There is no "Flaky rubber coating" as mentioned in other reviews. The head is a light stamped metal with an internal plastic mechanism similar to a stock mach3. My head came unscrewed from the handle but once attached seems to hold tight. I recommend this handle. Read more
Torn on this. On one had it has a very nice, stable industrial feel, with good heft that results in a nice shave. Unfortunately, as others have stated, the small silver bridge piece between the black handle and the blade connector tends to loosen and need retightening every 5-8 shaves. I suspect that bridge piece is part of the assembly they must buy from Gillette ( so as not to violate their patents) and the handle manufacturer has limited control here. I’m going to try a couple of dabs of licorice here, and if that fails, move onto CA glue. But couldn’t this have been done the “factory”? Read more
I didn't write an review when I had it 2 years ago. It looked great when I first got it and it still looks great now - even the black handle lighten up a bit as I can see some brass color underneath it. I also love the weight of the razor. But what I really want to talk about is the seller's customer service. I use it every 2/3 days for about 2 years no problem, until couple weeks ago I dropped and broke the retract mechanism and it can't hold on to the razor anymore. I surfed around and tried to look for other razor handle, but eventually came back and thinking about buying the same one again - until I saw this comment : http://www.amazon.com/review/R2TSDTG9QUWPG8/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00570KYBS&nodeID=3760901&store=hpc. I emailed supersafetyrazors@verizon.net last Wednesday night about the situation and asked if I can get some part to fix it (since it's a perfectly fine razor still), on Thursday morning I got an reply from Howie @ Howie Inc., asked for my address to send me the part. I received the new part on Saturday in 2 bags of protection, free of charge. Thank you again Howie for the quick response! Read more
Positive - Feels good in the hand - has some weight to it and the handle is dimpled to reduce slipping - Attractive design Negative - The head of the razor frequently rotates loose from the handle of the razor - requiring it to be tightened before shaving can continue. This happens 3 to 4 times on every shave - The clips that are supposed to fit into the razor blade are not strong enough to extract the blade from the plastic safety container that holds the Mach 3 razor blades I owned another model of this company's razor previously. After several years, the clips wore out so I feel I got decent use out of that model. This model is not the same quality. I would not recommend buying it - the price does not equal the performance. This is a well made product. It feels as good as it looks. It's well balanced and has a nice hefty too it. It's something that you use almost every day, so splurge a little. Read more
safety Gillette razor 🪒. Enjoying, handles well Read more
I've been shaving every day for over 40 years (moderately heavy beard and also shave my head), and have been using Mach 3 blades and the Gillette handles for probably the last 10-15. When I got a replacement for my travel kit (the spring hinge at the top wore out) the new stock handle felt really light and flimsy. Decided to try this handle from Parker ( Black Metal Triple Blade Razor from Parker Safety Razor) with a standard Mach 3 blade and I can't remember EVER having a smoother, more comfortable shave in my entire life. The weight and balance seems to apply just the right amount of contact pressure so I don't have to press and scrape like I seem to do with the plastic handles. Shaving goes faster, I assume because I'm not reflexively going over the same areas over and over again. I can't believe I just learned about this. Is it worth the money? Well, I figured out that if it lasted 5 years that would mean about $7 per year and I was okay with that. Now that I'm using it, it's worth the entire price for a week or two of amazingly comfortable shaves. I'm going to purchase another one now so I have one at home and one for my travel kit. Read more
