I think it is good for the price. It's well built, and gives a close shave. The butterfly open mechanism is fun to use. But somehow I think it works less smoothly than Rockwell 6C which I used before (but broken). Maybe it is the weight or balance that I haven't yet gotten use to. Read more
This is my Third type of Parker Razor, and the second I have used on myself. One of the three I used to teach my girlfriend how to use a safety razor for legs and underarms. I have used various razors before from extremely mild to quite aggressive. This Parker razor was middle of the line for aggression. I can see this razor cutting up to four days of growth for light to normal beards. Pros: Medium Aggression TTO Butterfly. Safer and quicker blade changes Heavy weight for better shave. Long handle and lots of knurling for more control. Long handle easier to shave legs and body if you do. Cons: Parker Blades aren't always the best blades for coarse beards. Read more
I have always used double or triple bladed bump razors, this is the first time I have ever bought and used a saftey razor. I am very impressed with how it shaves, I will never go back to plastic razors again!! Read more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE! I am 56 and have been shaving with safety razors most of my life, using all different brands...but never one of these. OMG...I've never seen such awful build quality. The blade sits all wrong in the head and slices your face to ribbons. I gave it a good try...a full week of shaving, using brand new Parker blades and other manufacturer new blades...same result. I can shave with a knife and cause less damage to my face and neck. Read more
I started with the Merkur Mk34c Double Edge Razor with Heavy Duty Short Handle about a year ago; absolutely love it. Wanted to try a different style so picked up the Parker 74R at a local barber shop. I am 0 for 2 with the razor, scalping skin off my face everywhere. There's something about the angle of the blade and aggressiveness of it that doesn't work for me. The Merkur's blade angle is much more natural. That said, the Parker shave is beautifully close. BTW, I'm using Feather in the Parker now which could have an influence on this review, but no issues with Feather in the Merkur. Cheers, Read more
