The Philips Norelco Shaver i9000 Prestige, Wet & Dry Electric Shave is great. The cord for the recharger is HORRIBLE. It is made only for this shaver. I have 4 other Philips products with cords. Nothing works for this shaver. I am not even sure if the cord I found is a Philips Norelco cord. I also could not buy a correct cord on Amazon. I did not see it for sale. I called Norelco and they could not get me a cable, they wanted me to go to some other company for Part # 300009135121 USB cable. Read more

Untamed beards means older men where the hair starts to grow in crazy directions. The other style "Brown" (sp) did not work well for that. I have not tried the small nose hair trimmer or other cutter as I have a separate unit for that, but I guess I have a spare now. Excellent cut from this and less noisy. Pressure light display is kinda unnecessary IMO as my hand position covers it for at least half the shave anyway. Digital status display is nice touch however. Read more

It's alright. Cool looking and good packaging. Tons of parts and extras. Cuts ok, but you have to do a ton of passes in all directions - honestly, you're better off just using a razor like Fusion5 or Mach3. If you have to get into the rotating electric shaver, then Norelco makes a 5000x model for like $50 to $90 that does 90% or more of what this does for a fraction of the price. I would return it, but since I used the little cleaning solution, they'd probably ding me for it, so I'll end up keeping this thing, but kind of grudgingly. It's OK, but you can get cheaper stuff that does the job better or as good. Seems to be working alright so far, with no malfunctions or quality issues (yet). Overall, it's a "buy" if you have sensitive skin and are patient. Also, it's good to avoid messes, because all the hairs go inside the head instead of all of your shirt or chest or whatever that you get with a razor or other units. I had used an Andis foil shaver, and that absolutely destroyed my face - everything was red and itchy and terrible. Maybe my skin is too sensitive, so for that specific issue then these Norelco units are ok. Seems to charge very quickly and there's a base to help keep it standing up straight. The cleaning base is also pretty cool because it cleans out razors and unit, while also lubricating the unit. Hopefully it's a good long term investment and after more use (only have had it for a couple of days) I'll learn to like it more. Read more
