I have been using Norelco razors since the early 2000s, starting with an entry-level model and gradually upgrading over the years. I have now owned three Norelco shavers, and each one has been clearly better than the one before it. My very first razor still works flawlessly decades later and even holds a charge, which shows how durable these products are. When I received a promotion, I upgraded to a mid-level model that could be used wet not dry. I only upgraded to this top-tier model because I accidentally left the previous one behind at a hotel, not because it stopped working. This newest unit is another strong step forward. It gives a closer shave, the battery lasts significantly longer, and the integrated trimmer is far more convenient than the separate attachments that tend to get lost. One of the things I like most is that it works exceptionally well both as a dry shaver and in the shower. In fact, I get an even closer shave when I use it in the shower. I have a very thick beard and somewhat sensitive skin on my neck. I still remember cutting myself and irritating my skin with traditional wet razors. It amazes me that anyone still uses them, especially when you consider the ongoing cost of blades and shaving cream. Over time, I am not sure an electric shaver like this is even more expensive. If I have a single complaint, it is the charging system. Philips products tend to use nonstandard chargers. I have a Philips toothbrush, a Philips water flosser, and this razor, and all three require different chargers. If this razor could use a standard USB charger, it would be perfect. The battery life is exceptional, even with my thick beard, and the charge lasts for weeks. This shaver is a little heavier and slightly larger than the model it replaced, but those are reasonable trade-offs for the bigger battery and the built-in trimmer. Overall, I could not be happier with the quality and performance of this shaver. For me, it is very close to shaving perfection. Read more

I was very impressed with the smooth fast shave I got from this on the first try. I had been using a Norelco 7 series that was taking me forever to get a shave out of and would miss hairs and had to go over and over my face multiple times. This picked up all the stray hairs and pretty much the first time around and was a close shave. So far I'm impressed. Not to be confused with the 9000 series or 9 series... this is the I9000. AND if it says I9000 the shaver is the same, so don't fall for all the higher priced ones.... they are just charging more for different colors and accessories. $139 is a pretty good price for this quality razor. Hopefully it lasts and stays sharp for a long time. Read more

Pretty good shaver. Works on a two day beard, although it will take several passes to complete the job. Also nice on wet and even soapy skin. Rinses clean easily. Read more

I did lots of research into the best shaver at the best price and this is where you end up. It feels great on the skin, no pulling, scratching or cutting. Gives you a good shave every time and quickly. It will be a noticeable step up in quality for you if you’ve always gone with budget electric shavers. The battery last like a month of a shaving every day for me which is wild. The self cleaning pod is just amazing - I put it in there after each shave and can already leave the house while it’s cleaning itself. My favourite part is that it does not drop any hairs in the sink, which makes this my wife’s favourite shaver too! Read more

I've been shaving with a high quality disposable Gillette razor system for about thirty years. In my college days I preferred an electric shaver, but it left my face absolutely raw so I switched to shaving gel and the Gillette regimen. And this was especially miserable during warmer months when I'd sweat and become rashed. It was really unpleasant. Painful, really. This Philips Norelco has proven to the answer to my prayers. I really thought I'd sworn off ever being able to shave with an electric device again, but the positive reviews compelled me to give this (top consumer-rated) shaver a try. I'm pleased to report that it hasn't disappointed. A sturdy motor, comfortable ergonomic grip, and easy-to-clean rotary blade system have made this the perfect choice for me. Even after 4 days of beard growth it glides through without irritation. (I should add that--although I've touched-up with it in dry mode--I typically use it wet in the shower with shaving gel for the most comfortable experience.) This was a game changer for me and money well spent. Read more

This was the third shaver I ordered off amazon after returning the last two that did not work as advertised. "You get what you paid for" is a true statement. The last razor returned was similar to the norelco but was nowhere close to performance and was very cheap(don't buy ceap!). The norelco gives me a close shave on face and body. Smoothe to the touch and holds a good charge for multiple use before the next charge. I shave twice a week so I'm pleased with this shaver and don't mind spending the extra money for good quality product. Read more
