If you are familiar with this style heater, they are all about the same and do a really good job in about a 200-300 sq foot room. This one seemed like a good price- on sale for $69 (from $89) plus tax and free shipping from Amazon. And it worked perfectly fine EXCEPT FOR… Unfortunately, I am returning it for one reason. When plugged in, the little orange power light stays on, whether you turn the heater on or off. I need to see the light go off when I turn it off. But it doesn’t. So it is being returned. I already bought another one. The light on the replacement goes on and off as it should, for my peace of mind, and it was $25 cheaper brand new. Read more

I am so glad I was reminded of this device. I looked at them a few years ago but didn't buy. I was happy to find it and on sale. I was even happier after using it. I was a little concerned because the only available wall socket is on the other side of the room from my desk. I was contemplating what I could move so I could have it closer. No need, it warmed the whole room. This room is larger than what it is supposed to heat. It wasn't toasty, but it was comfortable. I was also pleased that it was still warm after I turned it off. Checking now to see if it actually works but assembling the wheels (the only thing requiring assembly) I discovered that the screws to one set of wheels were too small in diameter to attach them to the heater. OK, a couple of short 2x4s will take care of standing the heater up but that is unforgiveable. Did they not assemble one of the units at the plant or is there a law in China against making sure something works before selling it? Read more

Doesn't work at heating room, only ceiling warm air rises, and stinks to high heaven.

Stinks like oil based enamel, smell permeates the house, heater never got hot enough to warm more than two feet away, and no light indicating if heater is on or off temp control, and temp control never worked right. Plus heater isn't efficient because it's heating the ceiling warm air rises, but no air is being circulated, hence it doesn't heat up but a bathroom maybe. Ptc heaters a 100 times more efficient in heating a room fast, hence less electric. Once at temp, it stays there more stable with ptc heater, not this oil heater. Read more
