I am giving this 6-pack of radios 5-stars for their durability alone but for the most part, they have held up extremely well since our purchase in 8/2021. They're super easy to use without any special adjustments and the range has worked perfectly for us, up to about a 1/2 mile. The price for 6 radios is IMPOSSIBLE to beat. So much so that if you have one or even two that were to malfunction, its still a steal of a deal. I'd definitely recommend them for hiking, camping trips, in warehouses, or out-in-the-field within a (max) distance of about a 1/2 mile. After that, its hit and miss. Our ranch workers routinely display a lack of concern for company equipment, tools and radios. Frankly, they are brutal in breaking things on a daily basis. All our radios are badly beaten up and dropped religiously. Hence the reason I purchased "cheapies" to begin with. But these little compact radios are amazing in withstanding the abuse and have yet to fail. If you need durable radios with great clarity that are beyond feasible, these radios are for you! That being said, there are a few flaws as well.. The battery charger, ear pieces and radio clips, simply put - suck! Our ranch guys broke all the clips within a matter of a couple months, in catching them on various pieces of equipment and fencing. The ear pieces are just a joke. Not only are they uncomfortable, the wiring is cheap and faulty. But the worst issue is the battery charger. It is a complete and utter fail! Aside from being ridiculously sensitive to the radios being positioned ever-do-perfectly in the cradle before they offer the slightest charge, the lights aren't reliable or don't work at all. Since our purchase, I've had to buy 3 replacement battery chargers that were nearly as much as the entire setup. So rather than hunt down another battery charger, I have elected to buy another full set this morning, just to get another charger and clips. Replacement parts are readily available on Amazon by the time that you replace the charger (yearly with heavy use), and buy all new clips, why not spend $30 more and get a whole new set with 6 additional radios? Depending on your own necessities, you won't regret this purchase and will definitely get your money's worth. Read more

Our family has 7+ acres of hillside property and I realized that especially for safety, we needed radios for communication. Only my wife and I have our amateur licenses, so any family who came over wouldn't be able to use those radios. I've had good luck with Retevis radios in the amateur frequencies and thought I would give this kit a shot as it had enough radios for the amount of people that usually come over and help us out. I wanted something SUPER simple to use. No buttons, no functions on the front to get confused on or anything. These radios, out of the box, are exactly that. It audibly tells you what FRS channel you are using. Just turn the knob to the channel you want to use. Super easy and if it changes while you are working (if you bump into the knob enough to turn it) you will hear it change channel. PERFECT setup to hand to anyone who you might be working with. Our property is on a hillside and the range from these units is perfect from the top of the hill to the bottom. Audio quality is very very nice. Usually I hear people at department stores using FRS radios and all you hear is a static-y squawking and can't understand a word out of it. I'm really happy with the clarity of these. Out of the box, there is no roger beep turned on which is fine (like you hear out of most FRS radios, the do-deep sound). Just clear voices from the other side. Honestly these remind me very much of radios I was accustomed to using at my office about 20 years ago from "the big M" brand. Consider those units were $200+ each back then, these are an excellent deal for quality that works. Read more

My work puts on a fair every year at a local high school. We needed a way to communicate as we were spread out across many different areas. The school has terrible phone service so cell calls were out. These were absolutely perfect!! Battery lasted all day, audio was clear. Great communication=Great event! We will use these a lot moving forward Read more

UPDATE: Retevis support team reached out to me to warranty the charging dock and offered a full refund. The knob lock was due to a button that locks the talkie on a specific frequency, so it was accidentally pushed. Excellent support team. The dock stopped charging when nearing three months of use and started smelling of burning instead. One of the walkie talkies' knobs can't change the talkie's frequency channel, limiting its use. Very expensive for its lack of quality control and overall, just not a quality product. Read more

Wow!!! These look and feel great! Packaging was excellent, assembly was easy and they work extremely well. Much better than the store bought midlands. These are a basic walkie. If you’re looking for lights and bells and whistles these are not for you. Gripe, I wish the channel knob was stiffer. Sometimes you can bump the channel and change it without knowing. Yes it will announce the channel, but if it’s loud you might miss it. I recommend these. Read more

Purchased these for a special event, and I’m pleased with the results! Good distance, sound quality, and reception. If you go in expecting satellite coverage, you won’t like them, but hiking, special events, or even church security details, they’re great. Read more
