This is a lovely sweater made of excellent Irish wool. My wife loves it. The XXL fits a full figured woman very well. She loves the snug fitting around the wrist, no wind getting up the sleeve with this sweater. Typical Irish thinking and craftsmanship, which is excellent. I only buy Aran or Guernsey wool sweaters and this one is as promised. Warm, elegant and breathable. I find that over time, these cardigans seem to tug at the button holes and render them misshapen. This one will not have that issue since it has no buttons. I ordered a M. I am a typical M (petite, 130 lb) and this one has room while also being stretchy. I live in cardigans in the cooler weather, so invested in a good one. I like how it stays in place with the weight and the collar knit trail8ng down the front. Love it, even if it is initially a tiny bit itchy for the first few seconds on bare skin. (I associate merino wool with all the long underwear that is finely woven super soft, but this is more like proper wool wool). I hope the moths don't destroy this I love it. I found it hard to find a heavy, warm sweater. Most seem to be designed for style not function or warmth. In my climate, heavy coats are seldom required by most people, but sweaters are a must for many evenings. I require coats and warm sweaters. My sister purchased a fabulous coat/sweater in Ireland thirty years ago which I still wear, good as new. So I did some research and pricing as I wanted a nice, navy wear everywhere long sweater. This filled my requirements. The sole issue I have is that it could be fuller in the body. It fits, meets in the front, but I would like a bit more to overlap. The large looks great on my 5’ 3”, 170 body. I wear layered winter clothes so it accommodates that. And, it is warm without being bulky. Plus, it looks rich! Read more
