SAS Shelly Adjustable Toe Loop Slide Sandal

My first SAS. Now I know why people love these sandals. So comfortable. Adjustable. Great arch support for my high arches (these sandals were recommended by a foot specialist), wide enough across the toes, fit securely, felt great to walk in all day. Toe loop is comfortable -- leather not too stiff. Coffee color literally coffee color -- pretty medium-dark brown. I have always worn an 8.5 or 9; shoe fitter told me I should be in a 9.5 to accommodate my foot structure, so that's what I ordered in these and they are perfect. The sandals are well made, quality materials.; they look like they will last. Was a little concerned about keeping footbed clean, but there are simple instructions online so no worries there. I find these shoes incredibly comfortable. I like the comfort and support of the footbed and the straps fit comfortably around my foot. While these sandals are gold, they are subtle and I am able to dress these up or down. Read more

because I needed an alternative for my Merrell thong sandals that are no longer available :[ Even though they are very pricey, I figured that I would grudgingly pay the cost to have comfortable, durable and supportive sandals that I wear all year long. They are attractive, have a low heel which I am most comfortable wearing, they were wide enough for my side foot, the gold was the perfect amount of "dressy" and I was excited to get them on when I got them out of the box. Unfortunately, for ME, they did not work. I am keeping them because I can wear them for short periods when I go out but if I hadn't worn them outside I would have returned them. The arch is completely in the wrong place for me but felt find when I tried them on. After wearing them out for a couple of hours two days in a row I developed back pain and lower leg discomfort. They are a great sandal for anyone who has feet that fit well but didn't work for me sadly. If Clark sandals do not have an arch that fits you well, these will not either. Continuing my search... The color that is shown, is the color I got! “RED” is a hard color to find and this is gorgeous! It is glossy and that’s fine with me. PLUS, they are VERY comfortable! I have all four colors. I so wanted to love these. Since Mephisto stopped making my favorite footbed that solved all of my foot problems, I thought this would be my new Mephisto. Sadly, it is not. Pros: -The henna weave leather is totally stunning. I wish it had worked. -The footbed is super nice and squishy, which will absolutely reduce heel pain even though the arch is somewhat lacking. -They are very pretty for a comfort shoe. The heel looks nice and tapers a bit so it doesn't look half as clunky as most. Cons: -I have a D width foot and these are even a bit too wide, in the MEDIUM width. -They are quite long, so there was quite a bit of floppy canoe sticking out after the end of my toes. -The straps are quite thin which is a bit too much contrast for how wide and boat like the rest of the shoe is. It almost makes my feet look like pigs in lipstick, if that makes any sense? I do have somewhat fat feet. And I have short toes. So the thin straps kind of made my feet look comical. Not a good effect, but could have been forgiven if the arch were perfect. -All of this could have been overlooked if they had a higher arch. They are comfortable but the heel is quite high and they slope down, and there simply isn't enough metatarsal support, if that's your issue. There was a gap between my foot and the shoe after the heel, up to the toe. This could cause my arches to fall and cause pain, because I have flexible arches. If they fluffed up the middle of the shoe, especially in the metatarsal area, these would be heavenly. I might go down a size then because they are so long. For reference, I find the standard Vionic arch to be just about perfect. Only problem is their materials are kind of cheap and I was looking for similar comfort in a prettier, classier shoe. I have big flat feet and these feel like a dream. I am so glad I took the chance because they are fairly expensive and they aren’t all together cute…. But for me I needed sandals that fit and didn’t hurt my wide feet. I love them and can see owning them for many years and even buying more. Read more
