We bought this to cool our bedroom down at night without running AC at the temperature we like to sleep in. It worked great the first 2 nights but after that, it wouldn't regulate the temperature to what we set it to. (Stayed at 77 vs 68.) We went through the instruction manual (not very helpful) & updated any settings, turned off the dehumidfier, etc. It ran intermittantly when we tested it during the day at occasionally cooled to 68 but at night, the same issue. By the end of the first week, the fan didn't even turn on, let alone any type of cooling. Post-menopausal night sweats & this unit don't mix. We tossed the box so will pay UPS for packaging & go to our local box store to buy a better one. Read more
I bought 2 of these for 2 bedrooms. One of them had been opened and 3 of the vent flaps or whatever you call them were not attached to the unit. I put them back on without too much trouble but annoying to deal with. These units blow cold air but 1 bedroom that's about 250 sq ft won't cool below 72-74 until sometime after midnight. Supposed to be for 300 sq ft but id say 200 if you don't want it to run constantly and like it colder. That being said, it keeps the room cool and will get to 75-76. One major disappointment is the description which says the unit is wifi but it's not. Doesn't mention in the title but it does in the description. Was really hoping to program the unit to come on at a certain time every day. It does have a timer you can set for the unit to power on in a certain number of hours, but you have to set it every day with the unit powered off. Set up was pretty easy but like with all portable ACs, you never know if the vent kit is going to fit. The whirlpool i bought has 2 vent slides, 1 long and 1 short. That's what they all need and also need to make the stationary piece that the hose fits on shorter. One major pro for this unit is it's 5 star energy efficiency rating! Hard to find on portable AC units! Overall, the unit does a good job if the room isn't too big and i would recommend if your room size is around 200 sq ft. Read more
Poorly designed window adapter. Window does not close around it and the extender vibrates and shortens allowing air from outside to get in. Returning it. Read more
I converted a 14' cargo trailer into a toy hauler/camper. I bought this to use while at hunt camp. works great off my solar system on the trailer/camper. I installed had it in and left it running for about 3 weeks. So far no issues. Keeps things cool. Have not tested the heating aspect as of yet. Read more
I read some reviews of people claiming there was a 'thunk' , and the equipment stopped working, but I read more positive reviews than negative. It was a decent price and also had a heat function so I purchased it. I've had several portable air conditioners and this one was the quietest. It was putting out great cool air at first and nt nearly as much water output as its competitors. Sadly I ran out for errands in the third day and came home to find it not working. You can hear it making a buzz when it tries to engage the air conditioner but the fan has never turned back on again. I tried everything and finally I'm returning it now for a different model. In the meantime I won't be sleeping due to the heat. So sad. Read more
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is the worse kind of junk. DO NOT BUY. We had some problems getting it to work the first time we used it. The second time it worked. The third time, the compressor clicked but the fan would not work. Contacted the company, no reply. Read more
