The air in our house is so much cleaner and Chrisp. My daughter and I have asthma and difference is extremely noticeable. The only thing I wish I knew before I purchased it was that the air back into the room is cold so if you’re sitting near it, wear a blanket. When we are cooking, the machine runs higher and louder than it would if the air quality was better than your snack cookie so as soon as you buy a candle and or if you’re cooking and putting the bad stuff in the air, it runs a little louder, but it doesn’t last too long but other than that, it’s extremely quiet. We noticed that we are sleeping a little more sound at night versus being stuffed up. Haven’t noticed much of our any of our allergies. It seems those have settled since we have gotten this about two weeks ago. I live in a home built in the 1940s. The basement is more like a cave, plus smokers lived here for decades before us. Prior to moving in, I scrubbed every inch, replaced flooring, painted, and placed smaller air purifiers in the bedrooms. However, I wanted something bigger for the main part of the home, and since every Shark product I've owned over the years has been wonderful, I was drawn to this. I put this in my living room, which is next to my kitchen, dining room, foyer and play room. It works incredibly well in such a large area, and believe me, I have put this thing to the test. I compared it with other purifiers I have in the bedrooms, and I tested it in my bathroom, as well as the basement. When I cook or clean, the air quality percentage drops, and works its way back up. The dust collection on top of the machine alone lets me know it's doing something, but now, when I leave my house for the day and come back, I'm not hit with the musky smell I use to be greeted with! I also have two cats, and I've noticed much less cat fur when I dust. Yay for that! The air purifier is quiet and easy to use, with convenient controls. It is larger in size, but it's super lightweight, so I can easily move it when sweeping. It was in a brown box with no instructions, It’s easy to turn on and off and change settings. For the most part it functions: sounds like a fan not too loud not too quiet. It does change numbers when the air is clean and it changes color, which indicates if it’s not clean air. It does start to remove smell right away. Read more
