Will always buy smart wools - nothing ever to complain about and my husband is a full blown addict when it comes to this style/comfort of sock. He has worn them since the military and is always on his feel no matter what he tends to do - and these provide comfort, cushion, and keep his feet dry. I don't wash or dry them any differently than anything else - they go into the regular cycle. Fit is great and always stays nicely on his foot without riding down. IMO the entire Smartwool line of products is first rate! I have MANY Smartwool hiking/bikeriding socks, as well as many of their shirts (some with zippers, some not). All their products are very well made! I Have several pairs of these socks I use for bike riding and hiking, they are quite durable and wool is the thing: cushy for hiking, great when it gets chilly, and even when soaked they still work! I work on a concrete floor, on my feet about 10 hrs a day. These socks help reduce strain on my back and certainly help keep my feet happy! I’ve been wearing Smartwool socks exclusively for about 15 years now. The merino wool is great, for handling heat and cold, but be aware that these socks are sold in different weights (think density) for different uses. The thickest give great cushion, but can be a little hot in the warm months. They are not inexpensive, but the trade off of health and happiness makes sense to me. Read more

These are really thick, soft, and comfy! I was worried that they would be "itchy" but they are not. They are not tight fitting. I have been wearing these instead of slippers now around the house The only drawback is that these are really thick. So, these may be too thick to wear with some shoes. I’ve been wearing Smartwool for a LONG time. I hike so much, and my feet are so skinny, that I wear backpacker-weight socks for all hikes (except on cold winter days, when I wear exposition weight). I need the cushioning. They perform great, but you sure pay for it. $$$$ Read more
