Smartwool Mens Hike Light Cushion Mid Crew Socks

I adore Smartwool socks, though I had a hard time stomaching the cost of a single pair of socks. But then I realized that the higher upfront cost paid for itself ten times over! I have many now as I ask for a pair for every holiday - including Valentine's Day (toasty warm feet are the way to one's heart!) Smartwool socks are lightweight, warm but never hot, breathable, comfortable, soft*, the right amount of stretch, machine washable, and insanely durable boosted by their reinforced toes & heels. I just tossed my original pair because one was getting sheer along the ankle... after 10+ years of hiking and skiing! Somehow, Smartwool has gotten even better over the years - lighter, stretchier, thinner, no shrinking, and MORE durable. What can I say? I'm in love with their socks. But this pair - wow. All the same features only even a bit thinner, lighter, and more breathable. My one issue is they are a tad big for me (Women's size 8.5). They're true to a Men's M-L, just like athletic socks. Still, they're ideal in every other way. * I rarely put my Smartwools in the dryer; there's little need since they dry quickly and stay soft. I had no shrinking when I've used the dryer. Read more

I am a contractor so I am on my feet all day. I absolutely love these socks. After a long day of work, my feet do not stink! The socks. Breathe amazingly well in the summer and keep my feet warm in the winter. I will never buy a pair of cotton socks ever again. This is my brand of socks for life. I have always loved these socks, so I just made sure I can wear them every day by purchasing a bunch of them. Highly recommend I work all day and I work out in them and work out again the next morning before I change them sounds gross but they can handle it. Read more

Very warm. Also very nice looking. Nice weave but loose enough that if you have misshapen or very high arches you can still get this socks over the arch. I am finding that with a lot of quality socks that's not true. Read more

My husband and I both love Smart Wool brand but the only socks we can use from them are the ankle height or no-show height. Anything above the ankle is just too tight; the leg and cuff portion of the sock fit like a compression sock. We are not large people but these socks leave compression marks on our lower legs that last for hours after you take them off. We have had to look to other brands for hiking socks. Read more
