Relief...

WordpassSeptember 4, 2023

Everyone's nose story is different. In my case, when I was 16 (59 years ago), I knocked out the rearview mirror of a car from the unseatbelted backseat in a head-on wreck. Since then, I've had six nose surgeries and with varying degrees of success. Bottom line: my nasal passages still are mostly occluded. Even recent balloon stenting did not help that much. So, recently, I saw this product on Amazon and ordered it (the variety pack). I HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASED. Imagine a $20 "solution" to a 59-year-old problem. I put "solution" in quotes because nothing is perfect. I love all the different sizes and shapes because my nasal passages aren't always the same (due to the swelling I get a lot of and having nothing to do with this product). Unless too large, they are comfortable. They are extremely easy to use and to clean. And who cares about $20 when gasoline is $4/gallon? 'Nuff said.... Read more

I can breathe!

I noticed right away they changed what kind of plastic they made these from.. much softer so it does not irritate the nose. Very pleased with the sizes as well. Read more

Don't Buy. To soft and won't hold their shape

christopher edward yostJanuary 30, 2025

I already use a nostril opener and I purchased these for my husband. I was so disappointed. Mine are soft but made of a thicker material that keeps it shape. These are so soft & flimsy that if you push on the nose, they just collapse and won't hold the nostrils open. Read more

A tool in the toolbox, but not a definitve anti-snoring solution

Niles508February 11, 2018

I cannot give 5 stars to this product due to the ridiculously high price (I paid $20.57, but now I see it is reduced to a more reasonable $17.02). There is an extremely high profit margin here. Each one of these nose vents probably costs a fraction of a cent to manufacture & ship. So, to be generous, the vendor would probably still make a profit if the item were sold for $2, including shipping. That being said, the nose vents in this set consists of 3 variations, and each variation has 4 sizes (total of 12 nose vents). All are made of the same soft medical grade silicone. Two of the variations are very similar: smooth surface inserts, but one type has circular "ridges" protruding outside the vent-- presumably for additional rigidity, and maybe to help prevent it from slipping out of your nostril. The third variety is tapered (like a cone) and has a honeycombed criss-cross structure. I found each style to be perfectly comfortable. But, I definitely preferred the smooth surface style. I really could not distinguish an advantage of the smooth-style over the other with ridges. The ridges perhaps held it in place slightly better than the smooth style. The cone-shaped style was slightly less comfortable for me. I could feel the roughness of the structure inside my nose with the cone-shaped vents, whereas I really could not feel the smooth-type vents in my nose at all, after a few seconds. But, I imagine it is simply a matter of personal preference. As far as the promise to end your snoring problems -- that is definitely an over-reach. It is POSSIBLE that these nose vents will stop your snoring, but only if the problem that causes your snoring is the obstruction or collapse of your nasal passages. Consider these as a "tool in the tool box". But only you can decide if you seem to have obstructed nasal passages. If this is not a problem for you, then these nose vents will not help you to stop snoring. [ I have a history of nasal polyps, and had nasal surgery 25+ years ago. Anyone with nasal polyps knows how they compromise your ability to breathe through your nasal passages. I recently have had nasal polyp problems again -- they apparently grow back over time -- and I found that the nose vents really helped keep my nasal passages open. But, after the doctor gave me a dose of steroids and doubled my nasal steroid dosage, I have not had difficulty with my nasal passages remaining open at night. And, I really do not currently need to wear these nose vents.] There are several vendors of nose vents on Amazon. These were the most expensive. So, why did I purchase these? The reason I bought these was because 3 different types were included in the set, and I wanted to see if any one type had an advantage over the other. Also, the set includes 4 sizes for each. Other vendors only had 3 sizes, and did not have 3 styles. Having tried the 3 styles, if I were to do it again, I would buy the sets that just contained the smooth-style nose vents or the ones with circular rings incorporated into them. At least, that is how my personal preference turned out. Overall, I liked the smooth style best, as they were the least intrusive, and I did not have an issue with them falling out. You will want to obtain a small plastic case to store your nasal vent in, beside your bed. The nose vents are easily lost. And Beagles would love to eat them, per my past experience with Beagles. Other dogs also may eat them, but definitely BEWARE OF THE BEAGLE! Read more

Not much point if only one in 12 of them fits

Muriel VasconcellosJuly 5, 2017

I'm updating this review because I find it so frustrating that I have to spend $18 for a package that comes with only one vent that I can use and I have to throw the rest away. I refuse to buy it again, even though the one I had was the best of the three brands that I've tried. (One needs a supply because the little things can get lost in the sheets and blankets.) This brand gets a star because is much softer than the others and I can sleep through the night without it irritating me -- which the others do. While I don't snore, I do stop breathing sometimes in the night. I am getting much more restful sleep. So it gets another star because it stays in my nose and helps me breathe. I only bought this brand once and have since been buying the inferior (stiffer) brands that come in all one size. There's also a brand that comes in three different sizes (good solution!), but that one was a different design and didn't stay in my nose. Read more
