UltraPlush King Waterproof Mattress Protector - Bedwetting Bed Cover

UPDATE: Both kids were sick with a stomach flu recently and unfortunately put our mattress cover to the ultimate test! Happy (and impressed) to say our mattress remained completely protected and the cover survived as good as new through the wash. -------------- I have a brand new king sized mattress and two little kids who end up sneaking into our bed several nights a week. I wanted to make sure our mattress was thoroughly protected. This cover works perfectly! It truly is completely noiseless and is extremely soft. The sides are made of a stretchy fabric, kind of like a thick nylon, that keeps the mattress pad firmly in place. Best of all, it really does protect against leaks. I tested it by pouring water on it and all the water just beaded up, absolutely none makes it through (see picture for example). The underside of the mattress pad almost seems to consist of a rubbery material. You do not feel it at all while the mattress pad is on, but it's extremely effective. Laundering does take some extra care. I wash it separately on a warm cycle with a cool rinse, then run the extended spin cycle three times at the end. I tumble dry on low with two dry white towels to help absorb any excess water and run the dryer for about one and a half cycles. It's worth all the laundering fuss though. I have had this protector on my bed for about a bit over a year to protect a $1,000 pillowtop from accidents by my three 60lb dogs who sleep on the bed. It's soft and completely silent and has worked great through several overnight "events". I admittedly didn't wash it for the first year since no-one had any accidents in bed, but my dogs are getting older and have had a few accidents in the last few months. In every case, the soft top layer absorbs liquid and prevents it from pooling or traveling across the mattress, while the waterproof bottom layer has completely prevented any urine from reaching the mattress. Washing the protector is a bit more work than for normal bedsheets, but still surprisingly easy. I run it through the washer in warm water with cold rinse and then rearrange it with the plush side facing out towards the washer drum and run through the spin cycle. This usually gets the majority of the water out, but if it's still holding water in places, I rearrange it again and spin once more, then toss in the dryer with a couple of bath towels on low heat. I was surprised at how well the waterproof backing has held up after 16 months. This is on our new King Mattress and is very soft, makes no noise (for being waterproof) and is very well made. It gets very heavy when wet as I pre-washed before using for the first time. We hung it out to dry first but all the water went to the bottom. Takes a LONG time to dry...we brought it in and put in dryer with towels and it still took a long time to finish drying..had to keep moving it to a different postition. But it is definately water proof and hopefully we would not be washing it that often. That is the only drawback...the drying after laundering...but it laundered beautifully and fits nice around the mattress with no problem. I give it 5 stars. Read more

This cover has completely exceeded my expectations. We just purchased an expensive memory foam mattress. I was looking for a cover that would protect our investment, but also be thin and flexible enough to give us the benefit of sinking into the memory foam as is intended. I had started out with a padded mattress pad, and that did not compliment the memory foam mattress at all. This mattress cover is wonderful. The top side is a very plush, thin microfiber- just like the cozy blankets. It is the perfect surface to go under our sheets. Very comfy and cozy. I was REALLY worried that this being a waterproof cover, it would be rubbery and crinkly. Seriously, if this made even the tiniest bit of noise, I was going to return it. I am a light sleeper. I laundered it prior to first use, as directed. Put it on the mattress and was a bit concerned because I thought I could hear some crinkling as it moved against my mattress. wish I got a pic of the packaging but it is completely different than what is pictured, which made me skeptical but the product works so that’s mostly what matters. My baby peed a lot, and I was afraid it went thru, but it soaked it up and didn’t go thru to our second waterproof sheet. I love that this is a fitted sheet as it’s easier to get on and off. It fits well on our king mattress & the top is super soft, you could even just sleep on it. the only thing I’m wondering is if it’s the same exact product as it says online and has the same qualities it claims b/c of the diff packaging, but I bought this so long ago & too lazy to look at everything at this point. I ordered this for our king bed and was impressed with how soft it is. It definitely does its job and does not make any crinkle/rattle noise when you move. I have washed it countless times and it has not cracked or torn. Fits the bed very well. Read more
