This review is for the HKJD brand ‘Wrist Brace With Thumb Support – Carpal Tunnel Day Night Brace For Men & Women’, for the left hand. This is a bulky wrist brace that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It also works better than any of the other carpal tunnel wrist braces I’ve tried. It immobilizes the thumb in a surprisingly comfortable way (very nice), stays in place properly, and is not too uncomfortable to sleep in, all massively important aspects that most cheap wrist braces just can’t seem to get right. It’s also quite bulky at first, but once you get used to it, it gets a lot less awkward and a lot more comfortable. The tightening/securing straps are nice too, a massive upgrade from the old ‘shoelace’ style system most people are familiar with. Overall, I am very impressed with this wrist brace. Quality seems good, it’s adjustable in exactly the right ways, it's supportive in just the right way, and the way it handles the thumb is absolutely perfect for my particular needs. And on top of all that, it’s just $20. I honestly thought I’d have to pay a lot more to get a brace that works as well as this one for my carpal tunnel pain. Five stars! Read more

When I first saw this wrist brace it was a little intimidating for some reason...all that elastic and velcro. It was a lot more brace than the standard ones that I had used in the past for carpal tunnel but there is definitely a sturdy and quality feel to this brace when you hold it. There is a lot more material and support than the basic braces that you would find in a big box store. For starters, the thumb hole has 2 pieces of velcro straps to adjust and tighten around your thumb for support. Unfortunately for me, this was a bit too big for my thumb and my thumb barely made it above the velcro BUT it did cinch and tighten well in spite of being a bit long for my thumb. The rest of the brace is hefty and you feel that support as you tighten this around your wrist. Unlike other braces, this does not fully open and instead you have to insert your hand into the brace and there is some nice and breathable and stretchy material that has contact with your skin first. Once you insert your hand into the brace it is easy to adjust the brace as a whole to fit your hand. The elastic is all connected with a tab that just requires one hand pull to get it to your desired fit and attach the velcro at the back. This wrist brace is super supportive in having multiple metal pieces of support, velcro straps for adjustment and good padding on the inside to prevent soreness with long term use. I personally don't mind that this brace doesn't 100% fit my thumb area well because the rest of the brace is just that good and supportive and quality overall. Read more

I love this brace. I know that seems extreme, but it has so many features that set it apart from others I have tried. I have various arthritis/carpal tunnel/aches and pains issues in my fingers and wrists, so I have several braces for both hands that I have tried over the years. This one is great. First of all, it completely immobilizes the thumb, which is often overlooked by some of the braces out there. Others include the thumb but use a short or partial immobilizer, which can really cut into the thumb uncomfortably, especially while sleeping. This one covers basically the entire thumb and is nicely lined and padded on the inside, so the thumb is taken out of action but isn’t pressing uncomfortably against anything hard, so I feel like I can safely and comfortably sleep through the night. The other thing I like about it is the strapping system. It has a web of bungee cords that all connect to one anchor point, and that one anchor is all you need to attach to the other side of the brace to tighten all of the cords. It’s like pulling on a shoelace and tightening all the crossed-over sections of the laces at once. It is way better and easier than the ones that have several straps that need to be secured separately, especially because you have to put it on one handed. The media could not be loaded. I have both De Quervain's and Carpal Tunnel and when they both flare up at the same time it can be frustrating because typically - carpal tunnel braces don't provide the extra thumb support needed for De Quervain's.. so you have to figure which you want to take care of first and then take care of the other. So very pleased with this design that provides adjustable support for both spots. Let's talk about the adjustable strap for the carpal. I've never seen one like this and now that I have, I'm not sure I can ever go back to the traditional. If you have ever needed to wear two at night - one for each wrist - you know that the process of getting them on and adjusting two or three different stretchy velcro straps to get the perfect amount of support can be... frustrating to say the least. It would be awesome if we had a third bonus arm but that's not always the case for most of us. With this system, you can easily get support from just one easy-to-remove-and-apply velcro tab that connects to a series of stretchy (not-)shoelaces. I also like the cloth that is in the adjustable part that faces your skin. It is the most similar to the under-brace gloves that I usually have to wear with these. I find I have to start wearing those after the second or third night with a carpal tunnel brace (not so much with dequervain's) to help with chafing - and will probably with these as well but at least for the first night, if you didn't have them, I think it would still be comfortable.
