I was dubious about this when I bought it, but I love it! My fear was that I would have to hold onto it to get a knife off of it without tipping over, but it is solid and heavy and all you have to do is reach and take that knife off of it. My old holder was the strip magnet type that screws into the wall. It was always trying to come apart and the knife blades were exposed. This, you put the blades down and they are up against the stainless steel fully and not going to cut someone. I was hesitant to buy something else to put on the counter because I have little counter space. But surprise! This just fit horizontally on my smallest countertop space. I made it work to my benefit. It's only 2 in wide at the bottom so I thought I would put it right up against the wall. I had some things in that spot such as room deodorizer and bug spray, junky and unsightly. So instead I just put those up against the wall and put this in front of it, which hides all that clutter completely! So instead of using up more counter space, it actually used up less and made it look a lot neater over there because all you can see is the knife rack. I read reviews before buying it and one of the criticisms was who uses that many knives. This thing is two-sided so there is plenty of room and I could double the amount of knives I put on there but I only used one side of it. However there are a lot of things you could stick to that besides knives such as a stainless scraper or measuring cups or scissors. I stuck my scraper on the end of it facing the side. If you had kids or didn't want your knives that visible you could stick them to the back of it facing the wall. It is versatile and looks nice. No downsides. Read more

I love it! A long time “foodie” I spend a lot of time in my kitchen and like it to be efficient. I have been wanting a magnetic knife holder for decades, yes, decades! Either my space didn’t allow for the wall mounted kind or I wouldn’t spend the $ on it (silly me). So I did get a wood block holder and thought it was fine until recently. In pursuit of something more sanitary, washable, and efficient I found this one. I did read reviews and compare it to others. For my needs and taste I decided to go with this one. I washed all my knives, wrapped them in a towel and waited with excitement for this one to arrive. Bravo to Amazon, same day delivery! Even better! Well not quite. Instead of last night as promised (and I kept looking) it was delayed until this morning. And then…. Viola! Easy to assemble w just two Phillips head screws on each end to attach the base. Washed and ready to load quickly. I did do a coat of stainless polish as a review recommended. So motivated I even sharpened each knife as I placed it (something I usually procrastinate). Ready to go I started cooking for todays event. Stuffed cornbread, squash soup, deviled eggs, and knives easy to grab, easy to see to select (not so when concealed in a sodden block) and very stable. Love that it is double sided. Every knife I had in the block fit on this panel. I put the favs I use most frequently on one side, all the others on the back side. Also east to grab. Even my scissors. I like the clean sleek look and love now having more counter space to work. The wooden block was heavy, on an angle, hence took up more space, wasn’t easy to clean/sanitize. I was so pleasantly surprised when I received this magnetic knife holder. I looked at others on Amazon and some were 3 or 4 times the price of this one. That made me a little skeptical but I was so pleased when I opened it. It is very heavy and very sturdy. It stays put on the counter and the magnets are very strong. We remodeled our kitchen and the old wooden block we kept our knives in just didn’t look nice anymore. The design is modern and clean looking and takes up much less space. I have knives on both sides. Large prep knives on the front side and a set of steak knives and kitchen scissors on the back. I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend it. Read more
