I did have a hiccup in processing the claim online, but once I called — a representative was able to process the claim on my behalf. The instructions and shipping label came quickly. Asurion kept me updated on each part of my claim process. They let me know when the package was en route to received. They let me know when they were working on my item and what the next steps were. Their resolution was fairly quick and much appreciated. I will continue to purchase and use this service. Read more
The product failed. They had me UPS it to them at their cost. In less than a week they found the item unrepairable and issued an Amazon credit for the FULL purchase price of the item. They kept whatever the cost of the insurance was.... but well worth the expense. This is the fourth of fifth item Asurion has taken care of for me. I HIGHLY recommend for electronic items. This item was a dashcam... ROKU items were also credited.... and I think a bread maker. Read more
Easy to process and quick resolution. Had a defective security light, made a claim on the Asurion app, was provided a shipping tag, mailed item to them and within a week I got full credit back via a gift card. Read more
I usually don't buy extended warranties, except on my car if I buy it new. On most of todays items by the time we usually have an issue the warranty expired or we moved in the case of the last extended warranty I bought on kitchen appliances. Normally if you buy standard items, they are so cheap, by the time they break it's cheaper to buy it again. I usually look at it in terms of how long is the manufacturer warranty and lets say its three years, in three years do I want to risk $25-$30 for a item that cost me $150. $50 a year isn't that bad if the item broke within 3 years, ever year after it keeps working I'm winning and I saved $25-$30. In this case though I bought the item to replace a aging CD Player our church uses for services. Since I was the one to recommend it, and several members agreed it seem to be the better of the choices we were looking at, I decided to purchase the warranty on my own so if something does happen in the next three year I can call Asurion and get either the money refunded or a new unit. I've do use Asurion for my cell phone, never had a issue with their service, in fact last time I had to do a warranty issue they even said since I have not had a claim in 5+ years (cell phone insurance billed monthly) they waived the deductible for me and even told me to throw away the old phone, so that scored me some memory and a battery! So I guess what I am saying, not all extended warranties are bad, this was affordable, the church is paying for the CD player, so I only had to put out the warranty cost for my peace of mind. Just consider what you are buying, how long the manufacture covers it, and if you want to purchase it go right ahead, I will say there have been times I needed it and it helped, and other times I never used the warranty. The one suggestion I do want to give everyone, they only send you a email confirmation that has the product name, purchase date and a warranty code. You don't get a certificate or PDF which wish they did. Amazon does a great job of archiving, but do yourself a favor, print the email out and tuck it away somewhere safe. Online email addresses sometimes purge, or lose data, and sometimes even Asurion or Amazon could lose the data. Even in 2019 we still need to use a sheet of paper. Read more
My projector was damaged after two years and I reached out to asurion. They sent me a shipping label the same day. I shipped them the projector and within a week they issued me a full refund for the projector. I am very happy and satisfied with their service and highly recommend them. Read more
Easy claim process and quick resolution and payment of my claim for the full original purchase price of my item. Fortunately, I did buy the extra coverage when I bought my item, and it turned out to be a good value that allowed me to immediately replace the damaged item. Read more
I bought the protection plan for my car stereo and to be honest I feel a bit used. I bought the stereo for $160 and it worked relatively well for the price. As added security I added it to my find my device on google so I could locate my car or stereo if it were ever stolen. Unfortunately for me my other tablet was stolen and when I went to go wipe it clean I confused it with my stereo and wiped it instead. You’re supposed to be able to restore it back to factory setting if you have the passcode, which I did. Instead I think it wiped the OS off of my stereo. I’m not a tech guy but I know that if you were to do that on a computer all you would have to do would be to reinstall the OS and it would work fine. Instead I had to send the stereo, which is essentially a tablet into Asurion just to see if they could fix it. I was told if they couldn’t fix it I would be reimbursed for the stereo. REIMBURSED! How about you send me a replacement? The $160 I paid that you sent back doesn’t cover the $200 I spent to have it installed at Car Toys or even the $30 I spent on the protection plan. Oh and just to get to that point I had to go 3 weeks without a stereo because you needed a model # that you insisted was on the receipt when it was not. After an extra week of having it, after I was told you were gonna fix it, you then just reimburse me. So now I have to get another one since the one I had is no longer available and have that installed too. In my opinion you didn’t even try to fix it, you just made $30 off me and called it good. I won’t be getting a protection plan again, I should have know because you do the same crap with phones. Read more
