As a person who cooks rice daily, I've had my share of rice cookers, but the Joydeem Ceramic Rice Cooker has been a fantastic purchase. The most significant selling point for me was the pure ceramic inner pot. I've been trying to reduce my use of non-stick coatings, and this cooker delivers a healthier option without any compromise on performance. The rice comes out perfectly cooked and fluffy every single time, with no burnt or stuck-on grains. The 24-hour delay start feature is a life-saver for meal prep. I can set it in the morning, and come home to perfectly cooked rice ready for dinner. It's a small detail that makes a huge difference in my routine. The compact size is another pro. It fits perfectly on my small countertop without taking up too much space, making it ideal for singles, couples, or a small family. The controls are intuitive and simple to use, with preset menus for different rice types. If I had to mention a con, it would be the cooking time. It feels a bit longer than some other rice cookers I've used, but I believe this is a trade-off for the superior and healthier cooking performance of the ceramic pot. It's a small price to pay for the quality of the end product. I wholeheartedly recommend this rice cooker to anyone looking for a healthier alternative to coated pots and who values perfectly cooked rice. It is a reliable and well-designed appliance that has earned its place in my kitchen. Read more

I was searching for a small rice cooker without PTFE coating on the pot and found this Joydeem with its ceramic pot. This model has the features we will use: presets for white rice and brown rice, and two we probably won't, for porridge and soup. It also has a delay timer. The Joydeem manual mentions the possibility of a slight chemical smell on first use. It was very faint, barely noticable, and quickly dissipated. Other reviewers have mentioned a strong smell, so I was prepared to be assaulted by the odor. I am very sensitive to perfumes and chemicals used in fragrances. These unregulated chemicals can affect the central nervous system and the respiratory system. Some of them make my lips and fingertips go numb. We had a small air fryer that smelled like plastic melting and that smell never went away, even after multiple uses. No chemical smell problem with the Joydeem unit we received. I've made five small pots of rice so far, using one dry cup of rice each time. California Long Grain White Rice and some white Jasmine, some short-grained brown rice, some arborio rice, and a mix of red and brown rice with barley and rye. On the last I split the difference in water level. All have turned out excellent. The white rices took just under 50 minutes and the brown rice took a little over an hour. I rinsed the rice in a two-quart bowl filled almost to the top, swishing the rice around and then draining the bowl and repeating the process until the water was clear. It took eight (8) rinses each time. Planning to get a dedicated rice-rinsing bowl with a built-in sieve. Barely a wisp of steam was visible from the Joydeem rice cooker's vent. So much better than the little glass-top rice-cooker we had, from which a geyser of steam would exit the vent and coat everything. When I opened the Joydeem after the cook, it was almost perfectly clean inside. It will be very easy to keep clean. EASY TO USE: 1) measure the rice carefully, rinse it until the water is clear, put the rinsed rice in the ceramic pot, put the pot in the cooker, fill the pot to the appropriate line with water (the markings on the white ceramic pot are easy to read), close the lid, plug in the cooker (it's a 3-prong plug, BTW) 2) press the FUNCTION button until the light is lit above what you're making (white rice, brown rice, etc) and then ***AFTER A 5-SECOND DELAY*** the display will show an "animated" rectangle indicating the cook has begun. 3) The animated rectangle will continue until 10 minutes remain in the cook, and at that point the display switches to a minute-by-minute countdown. 4) When the countdown reaches zero the cooker switches automatically to Keep Warm mode. You can press the Keep Warm/Cancel button to turn the cooker off or you can leave it on, and if you do, the display will tick off the minutes to show you how long it has been in Keep Warm mode. WARRANTY I was not sure that the Amazon listing was from an authorized sales channel, so I contacted Joydeem customer service via their company website. I was informed that sales from the Joydeem store on Amazon are eligible for their one-year warranty. Read more

We have a 3-people family and eat rice or mixed grains 4-5 times a week. I have a Zojirushi 3-cup rice cooker for more than 10 years. It worked really well except that I had to change the inner pot a few years ago and now the replacement one is scratched again. With the scare of Forever Chemicals released by non-sticky Teflon surface, I searched and searched trying to find a healthier small rice cooker for my family. When I ran into this Joydeem Ceramic Rice Cooker, the price made me think of a cheap cooker that could make me regret down the road. Well, after 2 months almost daily use, cooking all kinds of rice or mixed grain such as barley, amarrath, dried peas, porridge... this rice cooker has not failed once to impress me! Read more
