OtterBox FR Series Waterproof Case with MagSafe Designed by LifeProof for iPhone 14 Pro Max ONLY - Black

I've owned numerous cell phones over the years and as soon as the Otter Box hit the market that's all that I've protected my phones with. That stated, this Otter Box FRE is by far the best engineered and quality one I've ever had. As advised I first tested it for waterproof and it certainly was. It goes together easier and quicker than any other one ever did - even my wife's new Otter Box Commuter ( really) on her new 14 Pro Max. Please bear with me while I explain why I spent (with tax) over $100 on an Otter Box. I called Otter Box customer service and the most knowledgeable and friendly customer service reps took my call. I told her that I did not want a "Screenless" Otter Box and she told me that the one's that that they initially produced with screens were failing on tactical through the protected screen, so they stopped offering them. I told her that I wear my phone on my belt, I'm also not easy on it, and what advise could she offer. She then told me that because of that Otter Box partnered with another company who had it figured out with a phone that needs "tactical touch and swipe" without a "home button". She warned me that it was going to be pricey - but it really was a nice piece of equipment. The sale was made as soon as I completed the call. Case is over 1.5 years old. I’m hard on them with a cracked in the corner and it was still water resistant enough to take underwater videos on vacation at the ocean. No problems with wireless charging. Read more

The protection offered by the case is good, I’ve used in quite rainy and muddy conditions. But the quality of the camera cover is dismal, I’ve been using the case for 8 months and the plastic camera cover is so badly scratched that photos are blurry and distorted, this is a huge problem. And since I purchased it here on Amazon, warranty support is pretty much nonexistent. I’ve contacted OtterBox with no response from them. Read more

This case has served me well for the last year and a half in an extremely dusty and extremely wet work environments, multiple 5’+ drops and one or two accidental submersions. My only complaint is the camera lense protector coating. It scratches fairly easily and obscures the cameras. I have had this same brand of case in the past, so I knew the quality would be good. The case is light and there is no screen gap with the built in screen protector. One tip for waterproof cases…..when you gain or lose a ton of elevation , if people can’t hear you just pop open the charger port door for a second. I don’t know the science behind it but it has worked for me. I have only used the Otterbox warranty once years ago for a different model, they treated me well and fixed the issue. So their warranty is good. It’s a great case. But all waterproof/sealed cases have similar quarks. The Face ID works well indoors or the shade. In direct sunlight with a smudgy screen, doesn’t work well. I can deal with that for the protection. Read more

I have had several Lifeproof fre cases until they literally fall apart after a couple years of hard use. This case seems to be the same as the old case even though OtterBox bought them out. I have not had any issues with Face ID or screen touch. Speakerphone quality has been an issue with any waterproof case I have ever tried. I abuse my phones daily with dirt and dust and need the extra protection and accept that there will be some minor issues with completely enclosing the phone in a case. The scratching of the plastic over the camera lens has always been an issue but has a simple fix… use a small dab of polishing compound or rubbing compound on a rag or tissue and it polishes back to new with very little effort.
