This phone case fit my iPhone 16 pro max perfectly. I compared it to an older Lifeproof case I have for an older iPhone and they are just about the same. I was concerned that after Otterbox purchased Lifeproof the quality would change. But nope this one is the same quality. Read more

1) All of the sound comes out of the back of the phone case and doesn't seem to be as loud. Sometimes the microphone gets muffled and people have a hard time hearing you. 2) Very difficult to reach the edges of the screen to fully use the Phone's functionality. Otterbox says its because of the advanced protection of the case, but they could have made the case a fraction wider and it wouldn't be an issue. The issue was either overlooked or they didn't want to make a change and cause delays or expense. 3) The phone seems to have enough play in the case that it pushes away from the screen. If you push on the back of the case, the phone is pushed to the surface and the option can then be selected. 4) The case is also VERY slick. I'm 6'3" and have a good sized hand, but still have a hard time holding the phone with one hand and it not slipping out of my grip while typing with my thumb. I wish they would have put rubber grip or something on the edges and back of the case. I put clear rubber grip tape on the back and that helps significantly! The case is tough and protects the phone but not very user friendly. Too expensive for what you give up. Read more

OTTERBOX Fre LifeProof case is perfect! Perfect fit, extremely durable. The design and fit are perfect! The grip is not as slippery as some people make it to be. It is not bulky. It is perfect for the level of protection you want. The price is not bad. By the time you buy a Screen protector, lens protectors and a decent drop case, you have already paid for the OTTERBOX Fre LIFEPROOF case and plus you get an added bonus of the Waterproof feature! I can say it is definitely waterproof because I have tested it with my iPhone 16 Pro Max inside the case and have removed the case which the removal is really easy and my iPhone was completely dry! The drop protection is great! I would rather scratch and ding up the case instead of my iPhone!! Let me also add that the built in screen protector is okay and is not raised at all. Typing is very easy and fluid and it is very responsive! I have had no problems with sliding up from the bottom or from the top down. The only con and complaint I have are the volume buttons are kinda hard to press. It is okay because that lets me know that everything is protected. No calling problems. Everyone can hear me perfectly and I can hear them, unless they are using a car mic where they are away from their microphone then it gets a little muffled. I have no problem in hearing my podcasts or audio from Apple Music, YouTube or any other social media or entertainment service. I highly, highly recommend this case especially if you are a very active person or like me, just want the perfect protection for your investment! (Edit)… I would also like to add the camera lenses are well protected as well! Does not affect photos or videos and the camera button is also protected with good access to the camera button and the button is very responsive! A solid investment to protect your investment!! Let me add this… The buttons get easier to press after some use. I recommend taking the case off every once in a while and working with the buttons to help break them in and also, I found that when putting the case on start from the top and work down the sides then snap the bottom. Sometimes if you start from the bottom it seems to not snap in correctly and leaves a gap along the bottom edges. When taking the case off, hold the phone screen up above a thick cloth, towel, pillow or something soft maybe a couch cushion will work then press gently in the center (middle) of the screen and protector until the phone releases to prevent tearing or breaking the screen protector from the edges. I picked up the OtterBox Max Fre for my iPhone 16 Pro Max because I’ve always trusted OtterBox for durability. As expected, the protection is excellent—this case feels rugged, fits snugly, and gives me confidence that my phone is safe from drops and bumps. The raised edges do a great job protecting the screen and camera, and the case doesn’t feel overly bulky for the level of protection it provides. That said, the overall build quality seems a step down compared to the LifeProof cases I’ve used in the past. The materials don’t feel quite as refined, and some of the buttons feel a little stiff. It’s by no means cheap, but for the price point I was expecting a bit more polish. Still, if protection is your number one priority, this case delivers. It’s tough, dependable, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do—just don’t expect the same premium finish as higher-end LifeProof models. Read more

Got this for my new giant phone and I am so glad I did. The pro max is bigger than my pocket, and so it sticks out by a fair amount. I would not have thought that was a big deal but the case is telling me other wise. The part that is sticking out of my pocket is getting scraped and beat up pretty good. I am a carpenter and so my life may be more rough on phones than yours, but I think this case is a MUST. Mag safe still works, everything is good. Read more

OtterBox continues to deliver excellent protection with this case. The FRĒ Series offers full waterproof coverage while still allowing normal use of the phone. The buttons are responsive, the touchscreen works well, and audio quality is better than expected for a sealed case. I feel confident using this around water and in rough environments. It’s a bit bulkier than a standard case, but that’s the tradeoff for serious protection. Highly recommended if you need durability. Read more
