I don’t think this is very efficient nor does it cool down a room. Realistically, I bought it to help a room cool down as the temps are so hot during the day (in Florida) that there is a room with lots of direct sunlight that never seems to get cool. I’ve put reflective material over the windows and think because this needs an exhaust there is heat coming back in for the open part. The other problem is that the water fills a giant tub (like the ones for a water cooler) within 12 hours. Ask me how I know… because the first time I didn’t check it I had buckets of water on my carpet. So I can’t leave it running when I’m not home. I’ve been out of town and missed the return date, otherwise I would have returned it. It does not cool like an AC, merely just acts like a fan… a very expensive fan that leaks water everywhere. So far so good. The heat is a little confusing…have to change the temp settings to create warm air instead of just hitting the heating option. Also that option is only on the remote-not on the unit. I hope it works well when the season changes. Ac works fast. Its small, seems well built. Noise isn’t terrible. Install is easy. Def portable if that was its intended purpose. Read more
Having the portable air conditioner for a while now, it has been a life saver for me at this crazy summer. It was easy to setup with the attachments. It's convenient to move around with the hidden wheels. It cools down space pretty quickly and easy to operate as well. Great size and runs pretty quite. Overall,it's a great investment and can't wait to try the heating function in the winter, would definitely recommend it. Read more

For eight years, I've tried to live without AC. I live in an apartment below grade, and generally that's worked out for me. An issue I have is that my windows are five feet off the ground and casement-style, so there was just never a way to get one in anyway. This year, after a string of 90 degree days, I decided that I just can't keep trying to deny that I need it. In comes this AC. It's conveniently-sized, simple, self-dehumidifying (in AC mode) and pretty much installed hassle-free. It cools my apartment enough to make it bearable, especially in the room that it's installed in. My apartment is a bit over 700 sqft, and this seems to be rated for around 450 - but it does make a huge difference. I'm sure if I closed it in a room that I would be iced out - it's that strong. As an added bonus, this has fan and heat modes, which I'm looking forward to trying out in the other border seasons. I imagine it would be perfect for people who AirBnb a tiny house or something - although some of the other modes required drainage of the condensate. If I had to knock a few issues with this, they are minor and mostly related to my unique needs in this case - but still I imagine that about 20-40% of people will need to buy something else to get this mounted and vented properly. The included window vent mount seems to only work in vertically-oriented sliding windows. (you can see that in their photos) Casement windows are pretty much out unless you want hot air blowing back in. The window vent mount is quite wide and won't collapse down enough for smaller windows. The included hose is pretty short - 6ft-ish or so. I solved all of these issues by buying other products on Amazon (a velcro window 'bag' that supports casement windows and a longer vent hose) so it wasn't a huge ordeal - but expect that you might need to solve these issues on your own. All in all - despite it being a "one size fits most" as far as venting, the core unit itself has operated flawlessly. I can breathe again. Read more
