Considering the nightmare experience I had with my last car phone holder, tumbling to the floor right in the middle of giving me GPS directions, cheap plastic scratching my phone, clamps can’t hold my heavy iPhone 13 with an Otter Box up... there is always something that makes them a deal breaker. I kept putting up with my last phone holder, every time after tightening the “nuts and bolts,” they stayed tight for maybe a day before they started loosening up. So, I have to retighten them pretty often. Anyway, I've decided not to waste another penny on the cell phone holder. I picked this one because it was an Amazon Choice and it had almost perfect stars. After I carefully browsed its pictures and promotional videos, I decisively chose it, and the fact did not disappoint me. I made the right choice. I will explain its advantages and high quality in the following points. 👉 Appearance: The appearance is the same as described in the pictures and videos, and I even think the texture of the real thing is better, if you check carefully, you will find it has a matte black design that does not easily leave fingerprints. The sides of the clip arm and the bottom of the phone holder are protected by soft silicone pads that not only hold the phone firmly but also prevent any scratches on my phone. Pretty Solid product but couldn't get it to stick to my dash. Guess one of the things it should indicate is that it does not stick to textured dashboards, maybe it did and I missed that. Loved the flexibility of the product though that was most certainly a plus. If I can figure out how to get it to stick to my dash that will be a plus. I'm a school bus driver is Texas. The country roads I driver have are very rough! The rough terrain makes the ride very bumpy. I needed a phone holder that could remain remain mounted within reach of the steering wheel. I bought other models but they could not handle the bumpy roads. I purchased the HTU unit because of the 80 pounds suction capability. I installed the HTU unit per the instructions. Half way into the first trip the suction failed and my phone and holder hit the bus floor. After the route I reached out to HTU. Grace was fantastic with support and recommendations to correct the issue. In addition she offered a full replacement or refund. Since I very much needed a phone holder to do its job on bumpy roads I elected to try the guidance she provided. Initially I mounted the holder to the deck of the CB radio. I used the portion that was smooth and would allow the complete base to be seated to the radio. Since this failed on initial ride I moved it to the dash. The dash mount worked perfectly holding with phone securely during the bumpy bus ride. In fact it's held great for the for 8 days now and I am confident the unit will continue to hold and withstand the rough roads and the HOT Texas heat. I did have a minor issue with the holder arm keeping the phone in the position I wanted. But I think this may have bee caused by fall when it lost hold on the CB radio deck. I think the radio surface was either to shiny or had a coating that preventing the hold. Bottom line HTU goes out of their way to make certain you are satisfied with the product. And if you have ongoing concerns they will replace or refund the full cost. Grace is a excellent profession with HTU. She did replace the unit and it is working great!
