Ease of use and I have the other part because I read the instructions. And clearly I knew the arm wouldn't secure to my dash because it wasn't a smooth surface. I bought this product because I wanted to raise my phone higher while driving for directions. However, it just wouldn't stay on my dashboard no matter what I did. My dashboard is a bit textured I thought the "military grade" would handle that. What qualifies this product as military-grade? No idea, but it ain't it!
