The grip of the holder clamps tightly, but the pads are too slippery so it only holds on for a second and then slips off by itself. I actually view this as a safety hazard, because when I first clamped it on, I thought it would hold, so I went about driving…about 30 seconds in, the whole unit plus my phone fell off and hit my windshield wiper arm, turning them on, plus I reflexively reached out to grab it and missed. That was quite a distraction, and I’m lucky I was in a place I could pull over easily, and lucky I didn’t wreck! Such a shame, I was really hopeful. It worked for a few months. It's kind of awkward because vehicles are different. Like this. Barely worked on my 2017 Jeep Cherokee. It all depends where your steering wheel's at and your dash. So I had to finagle the right angle but I didn't want to use my vent anymore nor glue something onto my car. The build quality was good and it was a strong magnet and easy to remove. The fit wise is subjective to how your car is. I got it to fit but not correctly. Maybe because my phone's too heavy. But the smaller piece with the rubber on it breaking off or rubbing off. I don't know because the heat cuz it was roughly the time it was getting about 100° or over in the car while it sits. But it didn't want to stay on my dash anymore. But again, every car is different. This worked for a awhile and I did order a second one however the clip that holds it to the dash broke I didn't even use it a year and once I placed it I never moved it again so it does work but not the best quality. But I did like it enough to buy a second one. Read more

UPDATED new info: Moved from 4 star to 5 star! I bought a second of one these for another vehicle and the experience has been great! For both hard to fit cars, these are HIGHLY recommended. I have now had the original for about 8 months and I have never had an issue with the phone coming of the MagSafe mount. It would be nice to have a little more adjustability, but for the price and design, this a GREAT PRODUCT! ORIGINAL: I've had a really tough time finding an iPhone MagSafe compatible mount that will fit a modern Acura Integra! There isn't a smooth surface to be found and almost all are angular or curved.. This clip on unit works for me VERY well overall. The MagSafe connection is strong and reliable. The angles, while a bit limited on the actual swivel mount point (thus, 4 stars), it is highly adjustable and it just took me a little while to find the optimal mount.
