A small air conditioner for a small room during limited uncomfortable nights.

This little air conditioner stands about 3 and a half feet high (read the specs on the product web page in Amazon). It moves on casters, which makes it easy to move out of the way - it's heavy for its size. Due to its BTU capacity, it's really meant for a bedroom or other small room. Initially, it generates a lot of condensation. So you have to watch it as it cools down a room!! It will fill a 1 gallon bottle in very little time. However, once it has cooled a room sufficiently, then the condensation production slows. You should keep the door to the room closed so that more humid air does not enter. Also, don't go to bed before the coolness in the room has stabilized. Otherwise, you will flood your carpet! It is somewhat low in noise generation. It comes with a window sleeve with a hole in it and an accordian style venting hose. When setting up the unit, you install the window sleeve, stretch the venting hose until it meets the window sleeve, connect the condensation drainage tube put the end of the tube in the large empty bottle for containing the condensation and away you go. I set the settings for 71 F degrees and a moderate fan speed. This little air conditioner seems to do the job. I don't need more because we live up in the mountains where we have few uncomfortably hot and humid days. I'd recommend this product to everyone who wants to cool just one little room without going through the hassle of installing a large heavy air conditioner for only a small number of uncomfortable nights. Portable AC well worth the price!!

Our AC went out when we were at our home in the Florida Keys, 90 degrees inside. We ordered it and it arrived the very next day as advertised. Easy to install and move from room to room if needed. Unit cools very well and gets very cold in a bedroom. Can be set to 69 degrees but 75 degrees is more than cool enough. Unit is pretty quiet and will not disturb sleep. Read more

Easy install and cools the space

This 10,000 btu AC is a lot of bang for the buck. I was tired of ugly, heavy AC window units but never thought a portable AC would produce enough cold air to make a significant difference in a large bedroom but it does. We live in a pretty cool climate but the 3 summer months can be brutal. This has been working great all summer, even when the outside temp is over 90. I like the three in one feature to use it as a fan, a dehumidifier or an AC. I have only used it as an AC. There is very little condensation on the outside and it runs quietly. ,making it a great choice for the bedroom. It was easy to install and the window kit is simple to use and modify a bit if necessary. I do not think I will ever go back to heavy in-window units. Read more

Good News and Bad News

This is written after trying to get help from the company. I asked to speak with someone who was familiar with the A/C unit but I just got emails. No person. The good news is cool air comes out the front. The bad news is hot air comes out the back. The end result is that the room stays the same temperature. So you have to sit right in front of it. That is fine for only one person. It comes with a window installation kit but it doesn’t say it has to be placed in a window. If it did I would not have purchased it. It comes with an exhaust tube. If you connect it you get the same hot air but 2 feet away from the unit. The room temp stays the same. I am not returning it because it is too heavy for me to take back. I had to get help to get it to my bedroom. Read more

The media could not be loaded. Works great!! Easy install, bigger than I expected but I’m happy and grateful will be getting another one soon!! Noise level isn’t bad sounds like a regular ac. Worth every dollar. Easy to move around. My room was 91 and it’s cooling it down quickly. Product is built sturdy and looks easy to clean when needed. Read more

Super Chill recommendation.

I really highly recommend this as this past summer our central unit went out and I needed something to take the heat out of my home. Bought this and within a few hours my entire house was an icebox lol. Read more

Many problems. Read on for final thoughts.

This kind of purchase is never an easy one because it’s always expensive and you don’t know what you’re going to get. Even after doing your due diligence and reading a ton of reviews. I already own a Hisense 7000 BTU unit. It cost WAY more than this one and I’m not overly impressed with it. It’s ok. So when I needed another one because I found out the hard way that my new landlord is actually a SLUMLORD, I knew it wouldn’t be another Hisense unit. Here are the cons so far (I just installed it a couple of hours ago): of the two window vent panels that are included, one was broken. Splintered during shipping is my guess. That was a disappointment right out of the box. Be careful lifting the lid off the box. I was doing it by myself and the tape and other packing materials held the unit in place as I lifted up and it ended up sort of crashing down and landed on it’s side, which is a no-no for these portable units. I picked it up immediately, but I wasn’t expecting that to happen, so be careful that this doesn’t happen to you. The window vent piece has NO screen or filter on the end. If you are putting this in a window that has no screen, this could be a potential problem if you have bugs, lizards, birds, or other objects that can find their way into it. Thankfully, my windows have screens and should act as a filter unless a bug finds it’s way inside the screen. I will find out later, I suppose. There are only two window panels and they are both long, IMO. The main one you need to attach the vent piece to is too short and the extender piece is too long. If you have a way to saw the extender, great. I do not. Luckily, the Hisense unit I bought came with three panels, one is very short and I did not use it. It is wider than the Serenelife panels, but I was able to nest them together and once I had the length right, I used Gorilla Tape to hold them together. Not ideal, but it works. I don’t know why they didn’t make the extender panel more adjustable or in two pieces to fit smaller windows. Yes, I measured my window and the description said it would fit, but it doesn’t. This unit does come with the window venting kit, but it does NOT come with foam strips or insulation of any kind. Be sure to order a roll of weather stripping or foam to insulate the gaps where needed. I had some left over from the Hisense unit (that came with it!) and was able to use it with this install. I used Gorilla Tape around the entire panel once I got it in place. Along with the foam, I find this works very well to keep hot air out. There is also a very small gap that exists where the vent tube connects to the window vent panel. I wrapped this bit with shrink wrap and taped it secure. No hot air seeping in! After all of that, I laid a folded towel in the sill for additional insulation from the heat. I’m in FL so the heat and humidity are unrelenting. Now for my final assessment. This little fella boasts 10000 BTUs and kicks butt! I started it on 70° with the fan on high. About 30 mins in, I had to change the fan speed to low and it is freezing in here! So even with all of the issues and cons at the start, I have to say that I’m happy with it. Next will be interesting to see how it effects my utility bill. I’m hoping to run my two portable units more than the POS central AC in this place, which should help lower my bill. The jury is still out on that one. If I could return my Hisense (that is really loud in comparison to this one) and buy another Serenelife unit, I would do it in a heartbeat. I hope this helps those setting out on this expensive journey. Oh, the Hisense does have a two year warranty. This one has a one year warranty. So there’s another big difference. Fingers crossed this one continues to impress and lasts longer than a year! Three stars for all of the cons. Would have been a five star review if not for all of those things. It redeemed a couple because it works - WELL. Read more
