Finally a safe way to cook rice, great for travel too
Found this after searching for a safe, travel, rice cooker that didn’t contain PFAS. Which I made the switch sooner. The design and size is absolutely amazing. Super happy with everything. One note, it does take a little trial and error to get the rice to water ratio dialed in. I was dissatisfied the first two times I made rice but finally got it right the third try and beyond. No longer have to ask about rice cooker when traveling too ~We just bring this. Read more

Mine came with 3 chips in the rim and rust had already set into one of the chips
New out of the box my cocotte de gohan had three obvious chips in the rim, and the deepest, largest chip already had obvious rust on the exposed cast iron. There were other manufacturing defects in the interior of the pot. The pot I received had the worst factory finish of any piece of cast iron that I have purchased new. Nowhere in the listing did it mention that the item was a factory second. However, clearly this was not a first rate item. I'm not opposed to buying good quality factory seconds if I know in advance what I'm getting. To be perfectly clear, this was NOT a good quality factory second. Worst Staub cast iron I have ever run across including the blemished items I've seen in discount stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Read more
