A sturdy tripod. The extension of the shaft needed force to extend which is good. I have past experience with other tripod where the extension become loose over time. The magnetic mount made set up easy and fast. Have not brought out to use yet but already loving it. The Bluetooth controller is attached in such a way that it will not drop off by accident! It is abit bulky though but I guess that is what makes it stable. Read more

Love this tripod for holding up my iPhone 17 pro max around the house. The remote is nice to use for taking photos. i love the shape when compacted it’s very portable. the legs pop out when touching the floor makes easy to use. my only problem is the magnet could be more stronger as i did drop my phone and cracked my screen protector. a fully aluminum model would be nicer as the legs of the tripod feel like they could break. Nearly a five star review about ULANZI MT85 Automatic Phone Tripod - Vlogging Speed Demon The ULANZI MT85 Automatic Phone Tripod is a game-changer for content creators who prioritize speed and efficiency. Its headline feature—the auto-deploying legs—is truly transformative, making setup nearly instantaneous. I'm awarding it 4.5 out of 5 stars because it masterfully blends a strong, feature-rich design with unprecedented convenience, falling just short of perfection due to a couple of minor material and stability concerns at max extension. 🚀 The Revolutionary Upsides (5-Star Features) Hands-Free Automatic Deployment: This is the killer feature. You simply place the base on the ground, and the four legs snap open instantly. This eliminates the fumbling and fiddling of traditional tripods, saving precious seconds when you need to capture a spontaneous moment or transition quickly between shots. It’s a huge win for run-and-gun vlogging. Enhanced 4-Leg Stability: Unlike many stick-style tripods that use flimsy three-leg designs, the MT85 uses an upgraded four-leg structure. This wider, four-point stance, coupled with anti-slip pads, provides significantly better balance and rock-solid support, especially when using the column at lower to mid-range heights. Dual-Side MagSafe & Versatility: The magnetic mount is fantastic for modern iPhones (and MagSafe-compatible Androids). It offers dual-sided magnetic mounting, meaning you can attach your phone to the front and a light, mic, or other accessory to the back simultaneously. This versatility is ideal for a minimal content creation rig. Impressive 60-inch Extension: The 7-section extendable pole reaches a full 1.5 meters (60 inches). This high reach works perfectly for full-body shots, overhead angles, or using it as a tall, stable light stand. 🤏 The Small Trade-Offs (The Missing Half-Star) Top-Heavy Stability at Max Height: While the 4-leg design is great, when fully extended to the 60-inch height, the slender plastic center column can introduce a slight sway, especially in a breezy outdoor setting. It's stable enough for hands-off recording but requires careful placement and a light touch. Predominantly Plastic Build: To achieve its compact, 385g lightweight design, the MT85 relies heavily on plastic construction (despite having metal joints). While the build quality is good, a more premium, all-metal option would provide better long-term durability and dampen vibrations better at max extension. Twist-Lock vs. Flip-Lock: The extension sections utilize a twist-to-lock mechanism. While secure, flip-locks are often faster and easier to deploy when quickly adjusting the height—a small detail that counters the instant setup of the legs. 📸 The Final Verdict The ULANZI MT85 is a triumph of function-driven design. It’s the ultimate tripod/selfie-stick hybrid for the mobile content creator who needs to go from pocket to ready in literally one second. It perfectly balances portability, height, and stability for most shooting scenarios. The minor compromises in stability at its full 60-inch height and its plastic-centric build are easily forgiven when weighed against the sheer speed and convenience of its automatic, 4-leg setup. Highly recommended for vloggers and social media enthusiasts. Read more

Got this for my husband for Christmas as he really wanted a tripod to film important things like birthdays or Christmas morning, without having to mess around in the phone or hold it. I was slightly hesitant about the magnet and not a claw type hold, because my husband doesn’t want a magnet stuck to the outside of his phone case. He has an iPhone pro and it’s heavy - but I put the magnet between the phone and case and it holds! Obviously can’t jostle it around too much, but if you want to put the magnet where it’s not visible, it will work. Pushing the “push” button on the bottom of the tripod seemed to yield no results…but I was able to extend everything manually. It gets nice and tall! For something that folds up to essentially an umbrella, I wouldn’t have thought it wouldn’t be that structurally sound but I was impressed. My toddler picked it up and carried it around (extended) like a giant bow staff and then dropped it multiple times so it also appears to do well taking damage. There is a Bluetooth button that pops off…I believe maybe I’m missing some instructions because I got a little booklet that emphasized how important it is to read instructions before use but then none of those instructions seemed to be in the booklet…it was pages of the same thing just in different languages. Suffice to say I couldn’t figure out the Bluetooth or that button. Granted, I don’t see us using it but I did want to mention it in the review. I’m not as software savvy as I used be when I was younger but mechanically I have a knack for figuring things out so I can say confidently that the Bluetooth access button on the tripod with the little camera button is not intuitive. The magnetic circle on the top where the phone connects does not have any kind of 360 swivel, just standard forwards and backwards. I actually like this as I feel it will improve the longevity of that specific connecting piece. Read more
